SIDNEY SPENCER
Sidney has arguably had one of the most decorated basketball careers even though she is only entering her second season as a professional. In High School she was selected as 2003 Adidas All-American, "Miss Basketball" by the Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA), Alabama Player of the Year in 2003 and was selected as the Gatorade Alabama Player of the Year her senior year.
After High School Sidney attended the University of Tennessee under legendary coach Pat Summit. During her time there she was named to ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-District IV Third Team and earned SEC All-Academic honors. In 2007 Sidney was able to lead her team to the 2007 National Championship.
The same month that Sidney won the National Championship she was drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks. She got off to an exceptional start in her rookie season and as a fan favorite, quickly worked her way into the team's starting line-up. Sidney finished her rookie season 2nd in the Rookie of the Year Award.
